User Pain Points
Primary research uncovered that EV drivers prioritize diverse station preferences, real-time availability data, and seamless navigation integrated into travel routes. These insights guided the app's user-centered design.
Preference Variability
EV drivers have diverse preferences regarding charging station types, locations, and charging times.
Need for Real-Time Data
Users stressed the importance of accurate, real-time data on station availability to avoid wait times.
Seamless Navigation
Many EV drivers highlighted a need for clear, intuitive navigation that integrates charging stations into their travel routes.
Hierarchical Task Analysis
The Hierarchical Task Analysis (HTA) for the EV charging station recommendation system breaks down user interactions and functions into a structured hierarchy. It identifies core tasks, guiding a user-centric app design. The analysis highlights key functions: user registration, preferences, efficient search, real-time info, progress tracking, payment, navigation, alerts, and feedback. This ensures aligned design, simplifies charging, and offers a user-friendly solution for EV owners to find, access, and use charging stations, enhancing their overall experience.
User Interviews:
User interviews for AmpedUP focused on understanding EV drivers' charging behaviors, preferences, and challenges. The questions explored workflows, frustrations, and decision-making factors, offering critical insights for crafting a user-friendly and efficient charging app. These findings shaped the app's core features, such as real-time station tracking, smart recommendations, and intuitive payment processes.
Who are the Target Users?
The target users for the AmpedUp app are electric vehicle (EV) owners and drivers. These individuals are environmentally conscious and interested in sustainable transportation options. They may include urban commuters, suburban residents, and those who frequently travel within cities or across regions. The app aims to cater to both experienced EV drivers and those new to electric vehicles, providing them with a user-friendly solution to easily locate, access, and utilize charging stations. The target users are seeking convenience, efficiency, and reliable information about nearby charging stations, as well as value-added features such as real-time availability updates, amenities information, and seamless payment options.
